Embraced by the Light
The glow from within,
The shadows vanish
And clarity ensues.
Light brings
Focus to my view.
Floatation
For my spirit.
Purpose
To my step.
A smile
To my face.
With the dance of celebration
We acknowledge this day,
Linked to a culture,
A history,
A people and their ways.
No belonging or relinquishing
Of sorts is necessary.
For all persons
To enjoy
This universal phenomenon.
The rise and fall
Of the day.
Time is a concept
Encapsulated
By day, week
And year.
Yet true rejuvenation
Is a simple,
Breath away.
Breathe in,
Breathe out,
Move forward,
Let go.
Cease never to celebrate
With each moment,
Each breath,
Each day.

 

Succulent

Simple uniformity
With chlorophyll abundant
Definition clear
With H2O fill

Succulent by name
Enabling warrior survival
In the most desolate
Arid of terrains

Human so similar
Designed to perfection
Multiple organ chambers
Renewing survival each day

Consciousness the difference
Given privy to the play
I behold the succulent
For giving me the way

Recognizing her attributes
I look into myself
Finding what sustains me
Our bond is now complete

Glory to our creator
As magic he did spill
For splendors both created
As succulent and me

Uniqueness

 

To be so awkward
Yet accepted as graceful,
Lessons of the giraffe.

To flutter inattentive
Yet accepted as a delicate beauty,
Lessons of the butterfly.

To create incessant noise
Yet accepted as the warning buzz,
Lessons of the bumblebee.

To thunderously roar
Yet accepted as commanding,
Lessons of the lion.

Do you know how to accept your weakness
Focus on your strength

Put down the yardstick
