Thanks for Giving

At the end of each day
Before the eyes close.
And as the dawn breaks

Before the eyes open.
You’re marketed.
Drawn by the glitter
The glamour, the clatter.

You’re hounded like prey
Trapped like the stray!
Heart beat races as if by a thrill.
But poorly differentiated
Is this pleasure and pain.

Are you the consumer?
Are you the consumed!
Are you falling or climbing?
Finding goal or demise?

Yet confused at the summit
As oblivious to this play!

Look, listen and learn
The way of the world,
And rote cloned you’ll be churned
Like manufactured humanoid!

Upon the pages of your heart
Your mind, your soul.
Erase, erase the messages
Allowed in by the gull.

The self talk,
The ego
Reinforce the convictions.
Drown out the pound
Of your screaming heart,
Gateway
To the tethered soul.

To escape the cycles
The conformity, the pressures.
Takes a presence pristine
A perspective reborn.

Slow, to feel the calm
So breaking the chains.
Shift the focus
Perspectives can change.

Challenge the noise makers
For phantoms they are.
True joy is no acquisition
It’s a gift of the Divine.

Weave in your kindness
Your currency of love.
Such priceless commodities
Stock market left dumb founded!

Let the changing light
Take you deep to your rest.
So fully, you can embrace
The quiet of the night.

Then rise each dawn
With the voice of your heart,
Saying,
“Thanks for Giving”
The wholesomely completeness
Of your being
Upon this earth.

Fading Daisy

IMG_7520

As twilight arrives
Vibrancy gives way,
Hues become somber
Yet a depth is present.

A new richness and dignity
Gently evolves,
And stamina and endurance
Courageously prevail.

Golden years
They are called,
Petals fade
Even begin to drop.

The cycle of returning
To the core
Scare some,
But not me.

For where I came from
I will go,
And my salvation
Always in love…

For where I have felt love
Has been
And is
My way home.

Cradled

Upon the leaf
the dewdrop does rest.
Nestled amongst the twigs
the egg does rest.
Cradled in the shell
the pearl does rest.
Does your beating heart
In your chest, rest?

Against all the odds
With no sliding off
Atop the satin soft leaves
the dewdrop rests.
No cracking no piercing
Between brittle bramble twigs
the egg nests.
No irregularities and perfectly unique,
In mineral enamel shells
Lays the pearl to rest.

And you
So gently encased
Have you felt
How you do rest?
In your skin, in your chest
So graciously bestowed.

So befriend your abode
It’s where you can rest.
Know your caretaker,
Feel how you are carried
And so sacredly married.
Through sickness and health
For richer or poorer
Through good times and bad
Til death do you part;
So don’t miss your find
To know your true home
That constantly cradles you so.

Hunger

hubger

Slow churn
Twist and turn
Rumble and roll
Then deeper still
Growl and groan

What kind of hunger
Speaks this way
Gnawing and nibbling
Never at bay
And incessantly stays

No food can satiate
No destination can appease
No feeling can deflate
No intelligence can defeat

So I return within
Claiming my peace
As all attentions
Gather in one place

Here it is
The fountain of All
Pouring and cascading
Just waiting to be found
Questions and answers
All merge into one

What magic then
If scaled somewhat larger
That all our hungers
Our questions, our answers
All too reside, right here together
On this here planet
We can call home…

True Home

true home

Whisper words of love
Radiate the glow of gratitude

Therein lies the gift
Inherent is the proof

Both have been awakened
Consciously you accept

Step and cultivate understanding
Immerse and cloak with appreciation

Wearing your true face
Glide with ease and grace

Like bees to nectar
Like the homeward bound soldier

Your radar is now set
As home and paradise both
No longer just name nor mystery…
