Mirror

image

“Mirror mirror
On the wall
Who’s the fairest of them all…’

In the gentle trickle
Of a near dry stream,
The placid presence
Of the lotus within a murky abode

In the reflected elegance
Of the back staged moon,
The beaming presence
Of the glowing sun

Whether full force
And stage-front,
Or almost neglected
Along the sidelines

What I know
Is I am here,
Right now
And in this moment

Daring to look around
All are reflections
Of the omnipresent
And of me

Whatever the perception,
Wherever the appearance,
Both choice and acceptance
The unlocking keys

Unlock to your vision
Release your wisdom
Merge with the oneness
You know is real

Some mirrors are of glass
Some of smoke,
The ones that matter
Reflect to you your true self!

Reflections

reflections
As the butterfly you see all her alluring flutters
Yet wait awhile
As the wings are folded to rest
And she stills herself

You’ll then recognize the earlier colors
The flutters performed
Were reflections and windows
Of her inner hues and moves

In her secret place within
She finds her lover of loves
She floats in the clearest of air
She breathes in the perfume of heaven

Surfacing
How can she not
But simply shine and glow
Ooze compassion and love
Want to sing glory and praise
Of her One that showed the way.

True Nature

puppy

The puppy on the heels of the child
The flower up turned to the sun
The thunderous run of every river to the sea
The closing of your eyes to go within…

All of nature works with but one rule
To defy not its true course and character.
When nature remains unbroken
Beauty prevails and
Peace is resounding.

When we want to feel love
There needs to be no instruction for where to turn,
When we need to go home
There needs to be no signpost.

Are you true to your nature?
True to your one rule?
Do you know what it is?

It is to be in your joy
Surround yourself with those that fuel this,
It is to turn to warmth and love
And away from fire and anguish,
It is to feel love in and around you
It is to recognize your home within….

In a time when complexity is revered
Such simplicity is dismissed.
Oh how far have we strayed from our true nature?

If the guise of each label
The weight of each role,
If the barrier from each layer
Is all acknowledged as it is,
Temporary and void of ownership
Then yes, return we may
Back to our true nature
One of joy, love and peace….

No Reign for Confusion

reign

So easy to fall
Into the pit of quicksand.
So quickly blown
Into the cortex of whirlwind.
So it is that this very mind
Sinks to depths
And flusters in circles.

One minute
Slim of thought
So tranquil is life,
Next an uproar
As confusion brings strife.

Acting almighty
As if in control
When all the while
Breaking loose as turmoil.

One breath in
One breath out
Diminishes quicksand
To a playful sandbox.

One breath in
One breath out
The gusty wind
Is but a calm breeze.

Hand in hand
Heart and mind
Which will lead?
Which will follow?

With ears turned in
Answers are heard
Equilibrium sounds
And home is found.

Yet not from the song of the heart
Nor the buzz of the mind
But a silence supreme
Where peace is sublime.

Romanced by the Sun

sun

On a wintery fogged morning
Watching from behind
A thick blanket
Of heavy moist cloud

Allowed to be glimpsed
As the layers thin
You are a striking slither
Streaking across my sky

At first a most pure shine
Knowing your brilliance
You tease as a mystery
Charmingly cloaked

With the rise of the morning
You show your presence
Gingerly touching
Glistening dew drops

You banish the chill
Enticing activity
Drawing me forth
Into the day

At the height of noon
You are strong and kind
Grand and bold
Forcing me to acknowledge

My day is a disaster
If I do not see you
If I do not feel you
If I do not connect

Dusk begins to arrive
I am drunk in adoration
Your rich colors displayed
Never the same

Beginning your departure
Your embrace still fresh
Warmth subsides
But your power remains

As each winter night shortens
Your greet me each morning
Just a little earlier
Staying each day just a little longer

Every day, every year
You tease me so
You capture me so
And so it is
I am romanced by the sun!
