Reflections

reflections
As the butterfly you see all her alluring flutters
Yet wait awhile
As the wings are folded to rest
And she stills herself

You’ll then recognize the earlier colors
The flutters performed
Were reflections and windows
Of her inner hues and moves

In her secret place within
She finds her lover of loves
She floats in the clearest of air
She breathes in the perfume of heaven

Surfacing
How can she not
But simply shine and glow
Ooze compassion and love
Want to sing glory and praise
Of her One that showed the way.

True Nature

puppy

The puppy on the heels of the child
The flower up turned to the sun
The thunderous run of every river to the sea
The closing of your eyes to go within…

All of nature works with but one rule
To defy not its true course and character.
When nature remains unbroken
Beauty prevails and
Peace is resounding.

When we want to feel love
There needs to be no instruction for where to turn,
When we need to go home
There needs to be no signpost.

Are you true to your nature?
True to your one rule?
Do you know what it is?

It is to be in your joy
Surround yourself with those that fuel this,
It is to turn to warmth and love
And away from fire and anguish,
It is to feel love in and around you
It is to recognize your home within….

In a time when complexity is revered
Such simplicity is dismissed.
Oh how far have we strayed from our true nature?

If the guise of each label
The weight of each role,
If the barrier from each layer
Is all acknowledged as it is,
Temporary and void of ownership
Then yes, return we may
Back to our true nature
One of joy, love and peace….

To bloom or not to bloom

bloom

Standing side by side
Under same blue sky
Same warm sun
Same rooting dirt

One of luster
Other barren of life,
One beautifully adorned
One striped naked.

Waking day by day
Under the same blue sky
The same warm sun
The same rooting breath

Do I ooze life
Do I effervesce with essence,
Or do I drag myself around
Do I need reviving!

Given freely
This air to breath
The sun to warm
These nutrient to feed

What tips the balance
Each and every day
From vibrant and victorious
To defeated and discouraged

So fine the division
So refined the disguise,
Most times the only one to know
Is me and myself

Is it challenge
Is it gift
To make the choice
To pick the way

Each day renewed
Beautifully granted
Until the end
Until the curtain draws

Opening my heart
I see my blue skies
I feel my radiant sun
I know my granted blessings

With the view to accept
The aptitude for gratitude
The budding begins
The bloom inevitable

No Reign for Confusion

reign

So easy to fall
Into the pit of quicksand.
So quickly blown
Into the cortex of whirlwind.
So it is that this very mind
Sinks to depths
And flusters in circles.

One minute
Slim of thought
So tranquil is life,
Next an uproar
As confusion brings strife.

Acting almighty
As if in control
When all the while
Breaking loose as turmoil.

One breath in
One breath out
Diminishes quicksand
To a playful sandbox.

One breath in
One breath out
The gusty wind
Is but a calm breeze.

Hand in hand
Heart and mind
Which will lead?
Which will follow?

With ears turned in
Answers are heard
Equilibrium sounds
And home is found.

Yet not from the song of the heart
Nor the buzz of the mind
But a silence supreme
Where peace is sublime.

Soulful Vision

eys

Some eyes have sight but no vision
Here fear, doubt and oblivion reign.
For vision we need to be free
And freedom requires a warrior.

Some eyes peek at visions.
This the terrain of aimless confusion.
Peeking is transient looking
Peeking is from being barred and imprisoned.

Then there are eyes that have both sight and vision.
Conscious
Fearless
Searching and finding
Clear peaceful reality.

Choose your eyes
See your soul
Let it emerge and grow
Understand it’s song and dance
So that you can feel the true beauty of your soul.

Paradise

paradise

Have you ever seen
The vivid streaks
Of orange, red and yellow,
The blinding brightness
Yet mesmerizing vision
Of the sunset?

Have you felt
The crisp tingle,
Wet and refreshing
Frothing and cleansing,
Chilling yet beckoning
Lapping waves of the sea?

Have you heard
The coo and chirp,
Sharp yet tuned
Cheerful and chatty
Playful and sassy,
Chanter of the tropics?

So much color
So much tune
So much texture
Wow what a wonderful world!

Yet there is another paradise
One where colors have no name
And illumination is of warmth.
The rivers run of nectar
And hunger isn’t possible.
Where harmony is felt
And every breath is a song…

Look past the cover of your skin
Beyond the actions of your limbs
Though the expectations of your mind
And therein lies a land
Of milk and honey..

What is this you ask…

This is your existence
Your every day
Your very moment.

Go in search
But not too far,
All it takes
Is the want to know
The zest to find
The perspective to see,
And low and behold
You’ve found your way!

New

new
Is this what’s new for you?
A new year?
A new month?
A new day?

Well I have news for you!
What’s new is much more frequent
It’s the freshest newest thing there is!

It’s here and then here again
And before it’s gone
Its almost here again!

‘What?!’ you ask

It’s breath!!

There!
And there!
And there again!
See?
New every time
Can’t stop it even if you try!!”

“Why is it new?” You ask

Because it brings a new moment
A new opportunity
Never a repeat.
Just like a first kiss
The morning sunrise
A child’s first step

Don’t wait for the occasion
Don’t want for a change
Inherent in each breath
Is the unseen truth,
Each one precious
Each one only for you….

That’s what’s new!

So enjoy your New Year
Your new month
Your new day
Your new moment

The one that comes
With each New Breath…
